navigation system
My girlfriend has an '07 tahoe. Her ex-husband keeps telling her that he can track it with his cell phone. Is this possible and if so how does one disable it? Any help would greatly be appreciated...
Sounds strange to me, too, and a bit creepy. My best guess is that he knows the PIN for the vehicle's OnStar and he's able to call OnStar to get the current location. To ensure that's not happening, just call OnStar and change the PINs and remove unauthorized users. If he does know the PIN, he can also unlock the vehicle and do everything else that comes with OnStar.
Sprint offers the "family Locator" service which can track a cell phone via GPS on the web, I have this I know it works.
OnStar uses Verizon which has a similar service known as Chaperone.
it is possible that the cellular portion of the OnStar could be tracked if she has the OnStar and the Cellular service active.
HOWEVER I suspect its more likely that since its an EX and I'm going to go out on a limb here that its probably not an amicable split he jacking with her... but that’s my 2cents
There are services available that allow you to put a GPS device (small box) in a vehicle and track it.
If that’s the case the Ex has some serious moving on issues...
