Default navigation system

How do I turn the radio off when using the navigation system on my 2012 LTZ Suburban, I can not hear the direction with the radio playing

You have the factory navigation? If so, it should lower the radio volume when it gives directions. Sounds like you have some aftermarket system that does not interface properly with the radio.

No it came with factory install, damn thing is useless with the radio playing so I guess we will use our phone

Something is not right. The factory Nav system should be integrated with the factory radio and lower or mute the volume when giving directions the same as it does when you get a phone call while connected to bluetooth.

turn the radio volume down. When the navigation goes to speak, use the same volume **** to turn it UP.

Regardless of what the Nav volume setting is, when giving directions the radio volume should drop noticeably. From what he has said, that is not happening. If that's the case, something is not right.

OP, does the radio volume cut out when you make/receive a phone call?
