Hi, i NEED HELP! WHEN i BOUGHT MY 07 TAHOE THEY COULDNT FiND THE OTHER KEY & REMOTE. SO i KiNDLY ASKED THEM FOR A NEW SET. THEY ONLY WANT TO GiVE ME A NEW KEY.
i WANT TO BUY A NEW REMOTE ON LiKE EBAY OR SOMETHiNG BUT DO i HAVE TO GET THE SAME 4 BUTTON REMOTE THAT i STARTED WiTH OR CAN i GET THE 6 BUTTON REMOTE? i DONT CARE ABOUT REMOTE START OR ANYTHiNG BECAUSE i KNOW MY TRUCK DOESNT HAVE THAT.
BUT iF i HAVE THE 4 BUTTON REMOTE CAN i GET THE 6 BUTTON REMOTE TO WORK PROPERLY. LiKE THE FULL TAiLGATE OPENER NOT JUST THE WiNDOW?
PLEASE SOMEONE HELP ME!!!!

 

Unfortunately, I can't comment on your specific question, but assuming that you bought it new, sounds like they owe you a remote.

 

thats what i said. but when i asked for a new key set, the guy just put key so when i went back to get the key set they just gave me a key & when i asked where my remote was they said it was specific enough...i just asked for a key not key & remote.

but anyway i have a LS model tahoe & the stock remote was the 4 button one.
i just want to know if i get the 6 button remote & program it will the rear tailgate button work? if anyone knows?

 

You will need the 4 button remote, the 6 button will work but not the remote start or the power liftgate buttons.
The liftgate unlocks just like the passenger doors.

Talk to a manager at the dealer and insist on them supplying the 2nd remote regardless of what they thought that you requested, most dealers stock the RKE's and if not they can rob one from another vehicle.
Dealers that treat customers this way are a disgrace.

I worked in dealerships for most of my life and here is what you need to do--
First call and ask the receptionist who the owner of the dealership is and write his name down.
Say goodbye and hang up
Call back a little later and ask for that person by name
If he is not available ask to talk directly with his personal secretary (all owners have one)
Tell him or his secretary what the problem is ie: no remote with your new Tahoe and you want one and you hate to give a bad customer survey for such a small issue.
I assure you you will get it resolved VERY quickly.

By the way the remote has to be programed to your vehicle in their service department.

No need to play games with your salesperson or sales manager go directly to the top!

 

The remote can actually be programmed via the driver information center (DIC) menu while the key is on and in PARK.
