New 2-way remote

On Spike TV's Truck show today, they tried out the new 2-way GM remote that ZX mentioned some time back and made it sound like it was available now. Anyone know latest status?

This item has been delayed due to technical issues, there is no word on the projected release date.
I'll let you know as soon as anything changes.

Pleasegive us more details about this remote. What does it control? The remote is kind of a pain when I have to reach back and hit the play button while pointing it at the rear seat DVD player. Will this be a replacement for that?

the remote they are discussing is for the keyless/remote start. GM has been working on a 2-way device which will give the owner vehicle specific feedback on an LCD screen on the remote.

I saw that same show. They tested the 1000 foot range on it. It looked pretty cool. You can check your tire pressure from a distance.

yeah, i watched that this morning and was hoping that it would be available for mine. I wish they would have shown more of the GM performance parts and little more of everything which they did.
