New to forum with a 99 GmC Suburban
I recently purchased a 99 Suburban. It has the 454, not sure on what transmission or the gear ratio in it at the moment.
The cats were cutoff and it was loud as hell on the drive home. So I put an exhaust on it right away.
The guy I bought it from said he rebuilt the top end and after that, the engine had a miss to it.
I plan on changing the oil, and air filter right away. It does have a check engine light on but I don't have a code reader so I'll wait to take it to the AutoZone store nearby.
The popping and sputtering is pretty obvious when driving it around the neighborhood.
If anyone else has had to deal with a misfire, what was the cause of it and how did you fix the issue?
Thank you in advance for any and all replies.

Welcome from Florida. Get the codes read as this will lead you in the right direction to find the problem. If it started to miss after he did the work, then he may have done something to cause it.
