Default New to me 2008 3LT, A few Q's

Been a Sub owner for a while, just traded my 03 denali for this gem. Prior to that I have an 06 z71 etc.

Our new Sub is a 2008 White 3LT 5.3 with 3:73 G80, Nav, etc.......VERY nice ride,

73K miles and 1008 engine hours

PO/OO installed dual bats,

I couldn't be more happy, matter of fact I am plum giddy

Questions:
1. Is it normal for these to do 23-25MPG hwy 17.8-18.2 average?
2. 1008 hours is this a low hour count?
3. Dual batteries, there seems to be a few options, how can I find out what type mine is?
4. Updating NAV, WTF how do I do this?
5. 35 psi, is that about right on the stock 44 psi max tires...btw they are like new.
6. Auto start, mine doesn't work, in the morning I was going to re-train my fobs to see if it will take. Is that the first step you would take?
7. MY last car was a Denali and was a 6.0L, 200K miles I put on her and it seemed the only oil that would keep her quiet was RP 20w/50. What are you guys running?

Ah heck that's enough....BTW I am in North PHOENIX and travel for fun and family.

Welcome to the forum.

1,008 hrs is an average speed of 72 mph. I run 38 psi in mine. I'd say you should check the mpg by hand for a few tankfuls. I run Mobil 1 5W30 in mine and go by the OLM for changes. The option codes should be on a sticker in the glove box or console.

For the remote start, you press "Lock" and then press and hold "Start" 'til it starts. About 2-3 seconds.

2. 1008 hours is this a low hour count? Very low, especially for that mileage. Almost to a point where I question the veracity of miles vs. hours. My truck has 135k and 3900 hours.
3. Dual batteries, there seems to be a few options, how can I find out what type mine is? The option code is most likely TP2, but not available as a factory option on your truck. TP2 is for police interceptor Tahoes. If it was done properly, you should have a heavy-duty relay somewhere near the firewall where the hood strut is attached. When you turn the ignition on, you should here a "thunk" of the isolator relay, and another "thunk" when you turn the ignition off. CLICK HERE for more info.
4. Updating NAV, WTF how do I do this? You get a new DVD nav disk. I bought one off eBay and it didn't work. Frankly, the nav system is vastly inferior to your smart phone. I rarely use mine.
5. 35 psi, is that about right on the stock 44 psi max tires...btw they are like new. There's a sticker on your driver's door jam showing the correct tire inflation pressure. 35 PSI sounds about right.
6. Auto start, mine doesn't work, in the morning I was going to re-train my fobs to see if it will take. Is that the first step you would take? Do the rest of the fob buttons work? As said before, press the lock button, and within 2 seconds press and hold the start button until the truck starts.
7. MY last car was a Denali and was a 6.0L, 200K miles I put on her and it seemed the only oil that would keep her quiet was RP 20w/50. What are you guys running? DO NOT run different viscosity than what's recommended. Newer engines have smaller oil passages, and higher-viscosity oils will not migrate through as well. Especially on a cold engine. I use Royal Purple 5W30 on mine.

Big help guys, I didn't know I had to press lock first, viola it works., The PO's were elderly, had 2nd battery installed for the passenger to have an oxygen pump for her. I met them at the dealership, very sweet couple. Service logs and carfax all open to me. the car was cared for only at that dealership.....Lucky me. I will take a pic of my install. The Midway Chevy did it, Ill assume it was done right.
