Default New owner need infos

Hi folks

Just bought a 2007 Suburban LTZ.

It goes for an inspection at an independant dealer tomorrow.

Anything I should pay attention to ?

Anything I should ask ?

Any other advice concerning my new truck ?

Thank you very much for your input....

Are worried about not passing the inspection? I can't imagine there would be much wrong with your "new to you" Suburban if you just recently bought it, especially since it is a 2007.

Nonetheless, check to make sure all your lights work, your brakes are functional, and you have a good tread on your tires. I don't know everything that goes into a vehicle inspection, but those are the big ones that stand out. Are you experiencing anything odd with your vehicle that would lead you to believe something is wrong? I mean, if it was/is taken care of, there isn't much reason to fail an inspection.

Remember, a lot of this depends on your local laws. I can only tell you the basics that should be considered.

As I'm french, I might have been unclear...

It is just an inspection before I buy it ! Just to be sure that the Burb is healty and that it's a good safe buy for me.

I was looking for some questions to ask after the inspection or anything to focus on.

The Burb seems in really good shape and the inspection will be a good one as they will check the compression of the engine.

Anything else ?

Thank you very much !

I apologize for the misunderstanding!! However, the items I mentioned are still good things to check.

I will link to an article that I saw while looking through a Popular Mechanics magazine. It includes a used car checklist. The actual article can be found HERE. Take a look at it, and look for the PDF checklist download. Everything it mentions are all things that should be taken into consideration. The biggest thing is to look for the obvious. Are there any odd noises? Do certain things not work as they are supposed too? If it has 4-wheel drive make sure it engages. How does the shifting feel (it should be fluid - not requiring great effort to engage)? Check the paint for signs of damage or repair. Don't forget to check even the little things like the audio and heat/AC controls, and the seat functions.

Let us know how you make out. Good Luck!!

Inthesuburb: Welcome to the forum.

Be sure to check for cracks in the dash. Seems to be a problem w/ the NBS (New Body Style).

If it has Navigation and/or Rear Seat Entertainment, check that out thoroughly. Same w/ the Auto climate control. And the Auto Ride System.

Good luck w/ your new ride.
