Default New Paint Job on New Tahoe?

I got a Silver Birch on Ebony LTZ. I wanted a Black on Ebony but they didn't have one.

What do you guys think about changing the exterior color of a new truck?

I was thinking of having it painted black.

But then if I'm gonna change the color then maybe a true silver like the wife's Lexus.

Her silver car parked next to the tahoe in the garage makes the Silver Birch look Tan.

Think I should git-er-done?

I think you should have ordered what you wanted, or had the dealer trade for one.....the expense of paintin a new vehicle will e killer for a good job, not to mention you have to do inside the door jams, under the hood, everything to get it right.....plus it voids any warranty you have on the paint

If you plan on keeping the Tahoe for a LONG time and don't care about resale value go ahead and paint it so you are happy with it...

LOL! Thats a good one Terd.

I'm not sure what I'll do... Maybe trade it for a 2010 camaro.

Originally we bought it for the wife, but after I put the 24's on it I liked it too much so we got her the Lexo.

I'll have to see how much the paint job is.

Then I may paint it Lexus Tungsten Pearl or Lexus Smokey Granite Mica.

Happy Halloween Gents!

You should never settle when buying a car. Repainting is an expense you should not go through, IMO.

The cost of a pro paint job and the hit on resale will cost you big $$$$$$. I would probably go for trade in, unless like another poster said if you plan on keeping the truck a long time.

I have an 07 Tahoe LT2, 2 months after I bought it. I notice that the black Tahoe's looked so much better. I asked my paint and body guy to take a look at it and tell me if he could do a color change for a couple of grand. The paint and body guy said the material would cost me aboaut 1500.00 and since he works for me it would only be his labor cost on top of it. So to make this story short. It cost me 3500.00 anda month later. The paint job is much better than the factory black. We wet sanded and polished it to a glass finish. I will post some pic for all of you. I'm so happy with it. and who cares about resale. Just my opionion. 4 years from now no one will care that I repainted a new car, and maybe just maybe the color will sell it 4 years from now.
