no spark no rpm issue 2000 5.7l vortec gm
Hello, I have a technical car issue that seems quite involved and I need help from anyone, besides me, cuz I got it wrong. I have a Crank no start issue & no dashboard reading of rpm. It"s been a good year since i last parked my 2000 cadillac escallade 5.7liter v8 vinR? then couldn't get it to start again. I know this is a Chevy forum, I'm still hoping for help. The first thing I tried was starter fluid. I couldn't even get a puff from the engine just crank. I believe the gm passlock only cuts the fuel line so it would crank no start but would start with starter fluid is my reasoning besides no security light on my dash but I do have it for the normal 3 seconds on start up. Fuel sprays with good pressure from the gas line Schraeder valve located next to the injectors when checked but gas pressure was never measured yet. I moved away from fuel because it wouldn't start with starter fluid. I knew I had no spark at the single ignition coil and I had 12v going into the coil with a good ground . same 12v ground for the ignition module they are mounted together so i replaced both. still no spark but now I was checking for spark at the plugs not the coil because I knew my coil was good. still nothing and the only things between the 2 were the plugs rotor and cap replaced those. still no spark. I figured what could be stopping the spark now. only the cam and crank sensor , i replaced those as well, still no spark from the coil. thinking there is nothing left to replace I move onto the wiring. I started taking readings from the coil harness and ignition module harness again still 12v power and ground. I assume the signal should be 5volts from both signal wires I'm just not sure what it should be when cranking or what else I could be missing.
I am trying to find the expected electrical values from the wiring to:
1.) The 4 pin ignition control module molex connector
2.) The 3 pin ignition coil connector
3.) The 3 pin crank sensor
4.) The 3 pin cam sensor
Iv'e replaced:
1.) The spark plugs
2.) Spark plug wires
3.) Distributor cap
4.) Distributor rotor
5.) Ignition coil
6.) Ignition Control module
7.) Crank sensor
8.) Cam sensor
9.) Fuel filter
symptoms are crank no spark, no rpm reading on dash. I think I got an erratic voltage reading on the 4pin ignition control module ground when I sent 12 volts to it unless it was the signal wire. at the time I didn't know what was what on the 4 pin when I tested it but I believe it was the d wire on the module which is ground (black white stripe) when I go back I plan on jumping it but I don't know this wires origin location on the vcm to trace it from the vcm or the values or vcm pins of any of the wires like the signal wires and what they should change to when cranking if it matters. And if that's not the issue I would like to know what I should be getting from these wires going to the components I replaced. I believe fuel is not an issue because it will not start with starter fluid. I also jumped the fuel pump relay and heard and smelt the fuel flowing into the engine. I don't think its engine compression because I believe i'd hear it. I get fuel pressure at the shredder valve but have not measured it because the starter fluid would have started it and no spark. I pulled the plug off of the coil, grounded my test light and placed it an 1/8" away from the top of the coil and no spark while cranking. Any help would be greatly appreciated or if anyone has the 2000 service manual for the 2000
e GMC Yukon Denali, Chevy Taho or Chevy Silverado 1500 its all the sameish. Thankyou in advance for any help I can receive. have a great rest of your day.
