Default noise in drive train ... tried to find a post like my noise but couldn't

I have a 2001 Suburban 4x4 1500 - 300,000 miles ... primarily a grandbaby hauler ... no off road, etc...

Recently - there is a noise coming from what I believe is the drive train... sounds just like metal/metal when you pads are down to rotors/drums that type of metal/metal scrubbing noise ... .

Begins about 35-40 mph ... just that constant metal/metal sound ... not overbearing but obvious... no vibrations/wobble "that I can feel".

pads/brakes are good - that's not it

just had all new front wheel bearings done right/left side - within last 6 months to year

plenty of lube in both front/rear differentials ...

Any ideas what this could be ? Carrier bearing ?

Any help appreciated ... Thanks

David V.

Thanks.
