Default noise from the radio/speakers

I suddenly have a terrible whining noise coming out of my speakersthat has suddenly shown up in my 07 tahoe,It doesnt always happen, but it only goes away if you turn off the stereo. and makes a higher pitch and goes faster with acceleration or just pressing on the gas pedal. I thought I recall reading about this before, but cant find any original post, and of course the service dept (When I called) has never heard of this before.

I love this Tahoe, but I have had so many electrical faults!
Any hints or suggestions as to what it is or how to get rid of the sound??

I posted I have the EXACT same thing! Did yours come with Navigation from the factory? Or did you upgrade after the fact? I am being told mine is from the Onstar voice commands that I added to the radio's C1 connector pins 4 and 5.

I have factory Navigation, the only thing added close to the stereo is the GM lockpick- hopefully this doesnt have anything to do one another.

Turn off the country music station.

If that's not it, could it be spark plugs?Non-resistor plugs or plugs that are failingcan cause a whining sound that will rise and fall in pitch with the engine speed.

i would say you have a grounding issue..We used to run into this alot working at the stereo shop...after someone had tried to install their own equipment...

Tahoe2007's was factory installed. All I added was the factory OEM navigation unit. NOthing really aftermarket! Just the JP customs connector for mine, not tahoe2007's. A few people think it is the wiring that came with the onstar connector from JPcustoms. I am getting a new connector with the proper wires from a generous form friend!

it could also be that you have a strong current wire next to some audio cables or wires.

Take the orange and green wires that come with JP Customs wire harness and slip a high quality 100% RF shield over the wires or replace the wires with high quality shielded type wires, I had to do this to eliminate the engine noise.
