Default Normal to have burnt oil & coolant in lower intake?

While removing the intake manifolds to change a suspected leaking (coolant) gasket, I noticed a thick coating of oil in the front half of the lower intake manifold and a thin coating of dried coolant in the rear half. Is this normal for a Tahoe w/ 70k miles on it? See pics below.

Thanks

That is pretty much what mine looked like when i replaced my injectors at about 110K but mine was much dryer looking...
No oil or fluids in mine, mostly just carbon. i replaced the injectors, popets and regulator.

Mine was a 1997, it sure ran smooth after replacing the fuel injection componets
something you might consider if you are that far in anyway....

all the black up front, is from where the EGR dumps back into the intake

OK thanks. Yeah in researching the cause of my coolant leak and how to remove the manifolds I came across a few discussions about switching out the CSFI with MPI which I guess reduces blockage from contaminants. Truck still runs very smoothly as it is now so I'll cross my fingers with the CSFI.
