If the vehicle has been sitting and cold, you should only loose the equivalent of what is in the filter 1/2 to 1 quart at most... there may be some run out from the pump plumbing that gets siphoned out.

A twisted gasket from over tightening can do it or it has debris under it, or its double stacked from the old one

Yea I would say both are prob not the cause as I knew the last one was wet as well so I made sure I cleaned the area real good. I put on filter like I normally do. Im gonna put on a mobile 1 filter and hope solves my issue. If it leaks again not sure what the next step is.

Change it quickly and you shouldn't lose much. I only use k&n or moble 1 for all my filters.
