With a full synthetic oil I would have no problem going 8-12k miles between oil changes OMLS or not, I go by the OMLS because doing otherwise could potentially affect warranty coverage (going past the OLMS recommended)
you can change it ever 3k but it really is a waste of oil and money for the typical driver esp if you are using synthetic... my .02
You should however change it at least 1x a year no matter what the mileage is, due to moisture build up and the break down of the lubricating properties

The oil is changed approx every 5k +/- depending on what I have going on as to when it is actually changed. Mobile 1 syn with AC filter.

Wink Oil change

If you use synthetic oil dont change your oil when the dash indicator says. You can reset it and keep going.
That is the purpose of using synthetic.
To reset you must turn off the engine and turn on the ignition switch and press the gas pedal 3 times then turn the switch back off and your done.

well, i do it right on DIC. Just go to oil change indicator and hold "agree" to reset. That simple
