Oil light/no oil pressure after motor mount replacement
Oil light/no oil pressure after motor mount replacement
2014 Suburban LTZ - 147k miles, bought 9 months ago
I just did both motor mounts about a week apart from each other and had to lift the engine a lot more to do the passenger side than I did for the drivers side. I lifted it with a jack and a piece of wood on the oil pan. After the passenger side was done I drove around the block and parked back in the driveway. The next day I started working on the tranny mount but one of the bolts was too hard to get to to do it quickly and we had plans so I scrapped that idea. Got all the kids loaded up in the car, let it idle a bit to get the A/C going and when I put it in gear to leave the oil light came on and it started beeping at me. I noticed the oil pressure was showing no pressure. I did an oil change about a month ago. I checked the oil and it wasn't empty, but it wasn't in the full area either. I added a couple quarts and it showed near the top of the full area on the stick. No change in the oil pressure. There isn't a drop of oil on my driveway under where I park the vehicle. Needless to say, we didn't go anywhere in the Suburban that day, or since.
I found some things that said the oil pressure sensor could get damaged when jacking up the engine. The sensor and its connector seemed fine by feel and viewing through my endoscope, but I removed the intake manifold anyways to get a closer look. I didn't see any visible damage to them, the wiring harness or the valley cover. I replaced the oil sensor anyways and put it all back together. Still no oil pressure showing. The oil pan is not showing any visible signs of damage or distress. I'm not sure what else to do but figured I'd reach out to others before paying someone else $100+ for a diagnosis and then still fixing it myself.
I also have had a CIL for awhile telling me I have a cylinder 6 misfire. I have replaced the spark plug, ignition coil and swapped spart plug wires but it hasn't gone away. With the intake manifold removed I could tell cylinder 6 was definitely not being used the same as the other ones.
Please help with any insights you can, thank you!
Before removing old sensor. New sensor installed and engine cleaned up before reinstalling intake manifold. Cylinder 6 circled, highlighting its different appearance most likely due to misfire issue. Right after intake manifold removed. Intake manifold.
