Default oil pressure

Hi guys just purchased 2008 suburban LT with 140000 k or 90000 miles it was traded in when the previous owner had a problem with the engine
according to the warranty history they put a new camshaft in it and then Gm sent them a new crate motor for it (5.3) so I bought it with only 3000k on the new motor now there is 10000k on the motor but my oil pressure at idle drops to 1/4 on the guage then runs at just below 3/4 while driving
The truck I just had with the 5.3 with 255000k never went below 1/2
should I be concerned warranty runs out at 160000

mine sometimes drops to about a quarter on the gauge. I don't worry about it because it always goes back up to about 55-60 psi when driving.

stor: Welcome to the forum.

When I told the dealer that my '68 GTO (new) was running 80psi at 70 mph when the service manual said 60psi was max, he told me that it was a oil pressure sensor, not a gauge.

My 2007 ran about 30 at idle and 40 the rest of the time. My 2010 runs about 20 at idle and 35-40 the rest of the time. Service mgr says no problem.
