Default Oil Pressure Problems,2008 Suburban

Last year while on a trip through the Ozarks we had problems with the oil pressure.
First Mechanic replaced the Pressure sensor in the Ozarks, on the home, the problem came back
Second Mechanic, back at home looked at the engine, and said all looked real good.
GM Mechanic, said it might me something to do with the oil pump. How ever they were unable to get the pressure to drop while testing the engine.

Any way to hook up a secondary pressure gauge, and bypass the electronic one?
V-8 Engine.5.3L, about 112,000 miles.
