Default Optional Outside Heated Mirrors

My 2003 Suburban came with power outside mirrors, but without the heated mirror feature. Looking at my owner's manual, I see that the heated mirrors are activated by turning on the rear defroster.

Could anyone tell me if I replace both mirrors to the power/heated mirrors, would both features be operational? It seems to me that GM would use the same wiring harness and plug to the mirrors, and that those features would work, as long as the mirror itself had those features built in.

Anyone change theirs out and could tell me?

Thanks, Richard
