RE: Orange peel 07
on mine it's more noticeable on the front doors under the mirrors, it's graystone metallic,
like redboat I too looked at over 40 hoes at 3 different dealers and all had some degree of orange peel

If you see this kind of thing on one particular color it has nothing to do with the color itself, but the vehicles were likely painted at the same factory where the settings on the sprayers were off. They might have only caught it after running 100,000 of them and thats why it seems common on one color. And of course this is just speculation but it makes sense none the less.

I guess GM hasn't figured it out as most, if not all come thru with orange peel. As much as I hate to say it, seems like the imports are much better.

Do a quick search on "Import" brand message boards. You hear the same thing about "Orange Peel" paint finishes from foreign brands. Doesnt matter if its a Toyota, Lexus, Porshe or BMW.
Here is a link for a test on a high end Lexus LS430 - http://autospeed.drive.com.au/cms/A_2020/article.html
At the bottom of the article they say "There were only two criticisms on our test car - a surprising amount of orange peel in the paint, and brake pad squeal."
Heres a BMW M5 board - http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=58451
BMW paint in general seems decent, but I do notice quite a bit of "orange peel."
Toyota - http://www.oldgas.com/shoptalk/ubb/F...ML/002633.html
"orange peel" on a factory paint job!
Yea, you can say that again. My wife and I were looking at a few Sicons today - they were all REAL BAD. Even there Lexus had orange peel.
I think the criticism is industry wide!

That's the problem with white. It's never dirty - until you wash it and see the difference. It's shiny - until you see a vehicle with real paint.[8D]
