Default Orifice tube? 2003 Suburban

Apologies if this is the wrong thread

So we were replacing the evaporator, drier, and orifice tube in our 2003 Suburban we got through the pain that was the evaporator and drier but now we're kinda stumped on the orifice tube, it does not look like the one in any of the videos on YouTube and seems to be some sort of splice to us.

This vehicle has had a front end collision before and it seems like they Jerry rigged a repair rather than actually preform a proper repair. It had a broken orifice tube on the inside with the front and screen of it is removed.

The line has some weird blue connectors and what seems to be part of the oem connector.

What's should we do? Can we somehow use this slice over again?

Thanks In advance!
Xx New variable orifice tube.
Old broken orifice tube roughly where is was in the tube.

Welcome to the forum. You are in the correct section and your post actually started a new thread so you are all good.

Might check w/ a local shop familiar w/ your model and see what they say. Maybe someone else here can chime in.
