I have a 2004 5.3L v8 Suburban. Before I take it in, I'd like a little information so I seem like I know what I'm talking about and the service guys don't take advantage.

My truck is having two problems: First, I had my a/c running and everything is going fine and then I realized it was getting pretty hot. Checked to make sure all the controls were set properly and they were, but the air blowing out of the vents was really, really hot. Turned the power off to the a/c and the hot air stopped blowing. Turned it back on and the hot air was still there. Next day-- no problem. Cold air back

Second issue is the engine temp. It is running pretty regular now at 250. Where should it run?

About 210* is normal operating temp. Need to check the R134a level in the A/C system. Also make sure the compressor clutch is engaged first. If not, may be due to
R134a level.

 

yea, check refrigerant level. Hey shark I have a question, do these come with electric fans? When I was with Chrysler, the Dodge Rams came with electric fans and when the owner would get this problem it would be because either the central radiator fan or the condenser fan had seized.

 

Actually, mine runs just below 200° NOT, but, that could be a slight difference in the Gage reading.

Beyond the other very good suggestions, there may be a problem with the Air Door Actuator which shifts between cold and hot. This would be a good possibility if you didn't have passenger and rear independent controls. I couldn't see all three air door actuators being bad at the same time.
