I have a 2007 tahoe and wanted to know first if anyone has painted calipers on their breakes and have any pictures of it...

and second...how and where can I get it done and how much would it cost? I know nothing about cars and would love to have them painted red but don't know if I can do it myself or where I could get it done where it wouldn't chip off? HELP

Of course us firefighters are gonna always do things in red now aren't we?

 

Here is a picture in the process. I used a brush on caliper paint purchased from Autozone. It dries pretty quickly. It takes 3 or 4 coats to look good. The first few coats had me worried. Just take your time masking. If I had to do over again I might consider painting an LTZ in the caliper.

 

You got that right. I wish fire engine red was an option for the entire exterior.

 

Well hello to my brother from a differnt city

I am so no car smart and am scared to try and paint my own callipers. But I guess I can try. I will go to auto zone tomorrow and see if I can find a kit or the paint to do it in red. I hope it looks good on my fine silver birch metalic tahoe

 

I hope to paint mine sometime when it warms up. And as to us fireman making everything red...well real trucks are yellow.

Advance Auto carries a Duplicolor kit for painting calipers in several colors. Check the Duplicolor website.
