So I removed the factory installed stereo.
The parking sensors off indicator is on the whole time.
How can I turn it off?

I went for the aftermarket JVC EXAD
DVD

 

I understand but did you install a Metra, PAC or Peripheral interface that allows the use of the factory steering-wheel controls, Onstar warning chimes etc?
I am sure that your problem lies in this.
