Default Passenger seatbelt light

I am having an issue with the front passenger seatbelt warning indicator not turning off when the seatbelt is latched. I do not get any audible warnings if the belt is latched, only the visual warning in the overhead console does not turn off. If you unlatch and relatch the seatbelt a few times, it finally turns off.

Has anyone had this problem before and what did you do to resolve it. It seems like the switch (or whatever) is sticking and won't trip. I wonder if I were to spray some silicone spray or something similar into the seatbelt latch if that would work. Is there any reason not to spray a lubricating spray into the seatbelt latch?

If your Tahoe is a 2007 model then have the dealer update the SDM calibration, do not lubricate the seatbelt latch assembly.
They can reference GM Document ID #1847212 for details.

Thanks ZX. Yes it is a 2007.

I'll set up an appointment at the dealer.

I just had it in for the battery drain issue and the E85 update. I didn't notice this prior to that or I would have brought it up then.

Thanks again,

Jeff
