are they using any type of doorlock interface to lock the doors? If you hit the door locksdoes the unit arm?

When the viper senses ignition off it will start a arming countdown.Once the door opens it will interrupt this countdown and should reset when the last door closes. Upon arming it should lock the truck as well. This is provided that the unit is set to passive arming.

1. Is the viper set to passive arm? Default is active.
2. If you lock the truck manually does the viper arm?
3. If unit does arm when you manually lock, Does the unit trigger when a door is open? (full alarm)
3. Is there any type of bypass module in place? This would be need to lock the truck when passive arming would take place.

I have the viper installed and when they did it in December of last year it was their first one. They had the same problem of the doors not locking. The guy ran a thick cable from the engine compartment to the drivers door. Since then I was told that there is a module that takes the place of the cable.

Im thinking in R30's case they didnt learn the closing sequence properly or something's wired incorrectly or not at all. I will be able to assist in the cause of the problem as soon as I get some feed back from him. This unit should:
1. arm when locked thru the factor remote. It should arm the viper and arm the factory theft system.
2. arm the system automatically and lock the doors after exit. (passive arm).

and yes there are modules that report and trigger most features of the alarm to the GM without a bunch of additional wiring.

do you have the power liftgate or are you trying to pop the glass?

wait a second, if your using the 330v then your still using the factory remote to pop the trunk. If its not popping with the factory remote, that is a totally seperate issue within the truck not the 330v.

e,
All the alarm guy said was that the Suburban doesn't trigger a negative or positive when it locks the door ?? he said the 330v would learn it if it "saw" the trigger , he is using a module, but said he would need relays as well to do the door lock. The way he's installing it is as follows:
If I lock the Burb myself (remote or door lock button) the GM alarm will arm as well as the viper, if I forget to lock, the viper would lock the door after 30 seconds and set the GM and Viper alarm, he has no problem with the liftgate , but i will have to press unlock on the remote first to shut off the viper , or he will charge me additional money to run a wire to the liftgate actuator and I'll only have to press the liftgate button on the remote to unarm and open the liftgate. As far as remote start , I will have to press unlock(unarm viper) then lock (for GM's sake) themn remote start, the viper won't arm because it will sense the ignition on, is he doing it right ????

he's doing itthe hard way for him and the more expensive and frustratingway for you.

Yes the doorlock system does pulse a positive trigger at the doorlock motorswhen the lock or unlock function is applied. so this can be used to arm/disarm the 330v.
No relays should be needed.
She should not have to run wires to the liftgate with or without a module
Problem with remote starting the truck the way he's doing it.
1. when you hit the unlock button the 330 will disarm, when you hit the lock button the 330 will rearm, alsothe 330v will not see the ignition sense before it arms. The reason is,you hit the lock button (330 arms)and then take 1 second to hit the remote start button, then have to hold it for an additional 2seconds to start the truck. Total elapsed time 2-4 seconds. By this time the 330 should of armed by now after hitting the lock button and when the truck keys up the igniton it should trigger the alarm if properly wired.

Can this be fixed hell yes. First off being he sells DEI he has access to the 1701 bypass. This is the unit I ranted over in the other post. This would solve all of your problem and allow you to:
1. open the lift gate while armed without triggering the alarm, upon closing the gate it would re-monitor the zone after a few seconds of it being closed.
2. When you would go to remote start the truck (lock, start 2sec on factory remote) it would not matter if it was armed or unarmed. If armed it would still have full alarm over the truck such as entry points, hoods, trunk, you would however be bypassing the shock sensor which makes sense.

Sucks that its becoming this hard to do a very easy install. If you need help with wiring this thing up or getting modules let me know. If I confused you let me know.

1701g1 will control the locking and unlocking of the doors when the viper arms itself.
It will provide door sense trigger, hood sense trigger. no trunk sense. Thats it

the rest of the inputs for the viper will have to come from wiring in the trunk.
Yes the 1701g1 are made for the new gmt's

The installers should be able to make this work. It will take a installer that knows his or hers stuff but it can work.
Has this system been installed yet? (the 330 not the 1701g1)
Who's putting it in? An alarm specialist, car stereo shop, your friend?
Good Luck
Istill would of went with the 1701. it cost like 5 bucks more and you would be ready to ditch the factory remotes and get a full stand alone alarm with remote start capabilitys.

They still make the 1701 ??? I thought the new part number was 1701g1? I saw a pic of the 1701g1 and it said on it gm door lock alarm control and trunk interface ??? so I thought it does the trunk as well.I just wanted to keep the factory remote because it already had remote start and trunk/rear window open, just wanted to add passive arming and a better alarm because of my expensive medical equip I keep in the truck.
