Performance Chips for MPG????
I have worked on and modified just about everything I own. You can honestly waste alot of hard earned cash trying to get HP, MPG. What I have learned, don't waste cash on air filter solutions, simply get a good filter for your OEM housing. As far as MPG, I have actually tuned my Dodge Ram with a Hemi to get 18-20 MPG at 60 MPH, get on the freeway at 75-80 MPH, kiss that good by but keep it at 65 I can keep 17 MPG. Use a good synthetic oil such as mobile one, amsoil....Keep your tires at the proper pressure and try to drive with a constant throttle, no passing, weaving, accelerate smoothly etc. If you honestly do this for a tank full, you will see a huge difference but its boring. If you hit traffic, it wont matter, MPG goes way down. Good luck. Like they said, if you really want MPG.....get a car that can do it while driving normal but you can make a huge difference in you driving habit. It becomes a game.
Bought a 2005 Tahoe two days ago with 105,000 miles on it. Wife reported her 22 mile commute averaged 19 MPG this morning. She was reluctant to take my advice on how to drive over the years but she has really taken it to heart and now realizes that it saves money.
