Plugged hose behing LF tire?
New member here, was 7 months researching a new Avalanche and ended up with a Z71 tahoe instead. This site has been a great source of information and research and I hope to give back as well. I found what seems to be a plugged hose/tube dangling behind the top of the drivers side front tire on my 07 Z71 4x4 LT3 Tahoe, it seems to come from a budle of wires in the engine compartment. Any ideas on what this is for? Should it be dangling down or should I push it back up and tie it down?
Thanks,
-Al

I have a wire that connects in that area. It comes out from under inner wheel well in flex tube. It connects there to a smaller line and runs to the upper control arm to the final plug before running to the inside of brake rotor. Gotta believe its ABS. If yours was off though should have thrown a code.

I've seen it too while searching for my block heater plug (still haven't found it). Assuming it's a 4x4, I'm going to take a guess and say it's the front axle vent.

Thanks to all for the input, I don't have any warning lights up or anything. Here is a pic of it, just seems strange for that tube to be just hanging down like that. If it makes a difference, it comes from a wiring harness and seems to be sort of a black rubber material plugged by a small black plastic piece.
much aprreciated,

I agree with Hardin Thicke. It sure looks like an axle or tranny vent tube. Will check mine Fri. when get back from body shop.

Now I got you. Mine is secured to the bundle of wiresjust belowthe blue connector coming out from under the fuse box. Mine is pointed straight up in the air so I guess it doesn't matter which way you secure it.
It runs down to the top of the transfer case.

The higher up, the better cuz then you can go thru deeper water. Looks like his has fallen down for some reason.
Like any of us are going to do much of that.

I just went outside and tucked it back up by the blue plug. Looks a lot better that way and it's also out of harms way. It also looked like it could collect a little water when hanging upside down.
Thanks!
