Default Power steering fluid

Time for a PS flush and I was wondering what fluid to use. The manual gives a GM part number of course but I'd rather not go to a dealer and pay triple. I looked at NAPA and Prestone fluids but they did not specify for GM. Is regular power steering fluid OK?

The GM number is regular PS fluid. They also make a cold climate which is a semi synthetic. Amsoil does make a full synthetic. I use both the GM cold climate, and the amsoil.

If I were going thru the effort of a power steering fluid flush, I would switch to a synthetic. Just a thought.
