Default Power tailgate

Can a power tailgate be added to a 2010 Suburban? Our Suburban has a manual tailgate.

Welcome to the forum.

Sure as long as you have the money.

I called the dealership and they said they couldn't do it--I looked at some auto parts websites and didn't see the power tailgate kit for sale (unless I'm not using the right term for the item). I thought I could get someone to do the installation if I could locate the kit. Maybe the tailgate is configured completely different if it is manual instead of automatic...I'd really like to know because I love my car; I just wish it had the convenience of a power tailgate.

As "73shark" stated, it is possible, but will require time and money. In the long run, it may not be worth it. It would require a different door, actuator, wiring, modules, programming and various other parts.

I do not believe there power liftgate kits available.

Plus there's a slot in the D pillar for the lift arm that may not be there on yours.

Thank you! That is exactly what I needed to know--I'm going to forget about the tailgate and just make sure I have one in my next car.
