Programmer for a 99 Suburban k1500

Programmer for a 99 Suburban k1500
I drive a lot and pull a trailer. I have a CAI and have been looking into an exhaust system. But, we are planning to make a trip to Ohio in the spring (1100 miles) and was thinking about a programmer to help with the economy. Anyone have any experience with them and were they worth it. I don't want it to roast the tires just save fuel!
