Question about an APP sensor on a 2006 tahoe
So I am new on here and hoping to get some info. I have a 2006 z71 Tahoe. Last night it gave me two codes P1125 and P2138 which are app sensor and something else. The dealer today told me that its going to cost $1750 to fix
, that the throttle body, peddle assembly and wiring to both need to be replaced. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. Any information is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Maybe you misunderstood the quote. Those two codes point to an electrical problem with the Accelerator Pedal Position (APP) system (well, the first one says "in limp mode due to an APP system problem"). The APP sensor assembly actually has two separate sensors which in your case apparently are not agreeing. The "$1750" figure would be the worst case scenario that includes the APP sensor assembly, wiring harness, and Throttle Actuator Control Module (TACM). Chances are, it shouldn't come to that.

Thank you. My service advisor says both the APP plus the throttle body and wiring on both are bad. It just seems weird that this all happened at the exact same time. Thanks for the response.
Take it somewhere else. Sounds tech did not do the proper testing to pinpoint actual problem. If he sells you every part of the system it would have to be fixed. They do have a problem with wire harness about 2 inches from t-body. Also I have replaced a couple t-bodysand pedal assemblies but never all on 1 vehicle.
MDTahoe- Thanks for the help. I will bring it somewhere else tomorrow. It hasn't gone back on since last night. The light was only on for a minute until I restarted it. I drove about 100 miles today and it drives fine. We will see. Thanks for the help.
My next goal is to put a duramax into it. Still putting together my list and bank account.

I haven't brought it in today. I will this afternoon. This truck has always been good to me. It has done a lot for me and my family. Best truck ever! I am just bummed this is happening and the dealer didn't make me feel better. I will let you all know what happens.

So I talked I brought it to a few places and everyone thinks the same-that the dealer didn't diagnose it properly. I called the dealer and they told me it was basically their way to insure the problem would never come back. I have since put 300 miles on the truck and it has not come back once. The truck runs great. My evap sensor is bad, so should I just replace that or have them do the evap and APP? I could do the APP myself as long as I don't need special equipment. They want $870 for the APP replacement alone. Any thoughts? I am really torn with this one. They told me they couldn't duplicate the problem when I bring it to them.
I brought it in today to another place and they told me there was no code for throttle body. 3/4 circuit codes on the accelerator pedal. I believe circuit E, circuit D and both are the 3 codes. They told me to replace the pedal and it would be fine. Said wiring looks fine. Can you tell me how to see if wiring is bad and can I replace the pedal myself? My 5th code is the evap solenoid. we wiggled the wires today and nothing came up. cleared codes and drove it, nothing came up. Thoughts.
