rear a/c '07 tahoe
Hey folks-
New to the forum here but excited to be here. I have a 2007 Tahoe with rear a/c that I seem to be having a bit of trouble with. The rear a/c turns on and blows cold but it only blows from a vent on the passenger side that's behind the rear pass. door and rear pass. seat in the interior panel of the vehicle. No matter what selection I choose from the control panel it only blows from that vent, not the ceiling vents or anything else. The front vent control works fine, just the rear seems to have gotten a mind of its own. Any ideas on this?? I was wondering if this could be a fairly common problem, if anyone has experienced this yet, and what you may have done to solve it (what part was required, etc.) Man, any help would really be appreciated, thank y'all very much in advance, and it's good to be here, look forward to talking with you folks real soon.

RE: rear a/c '07 tahoe
It maybe the "flapper" is stuck or disconnected in the rear HVAC unit. The air should change from bottom to top when you go from floor to forward on the dash. We started to diasble the flapper in the "up" postionin our squads as we found out if the unit idles from long periods and the heat is on high it can melt thin plastic that might be sitting in front of the bottom rear vent. This way the air only blows out the top vents

this happened to my 07 Tahoe. it would blow air from 3 of the 4 vents and not on the left rear passenger. luckily it is still under warranty and dealer had to replace entire headliner.
