Rear Liftgate

2013 Yukon Denali tailgate. Was working fine a week ago. Now we can only open with the key fob or from the switch inside the vehicle overhead. The button to close the tailgate once open does not work either.

Might need the "pad" on the tailgate handle replaced. Not sure why that would affect the button to close, but maybe its related or maybe just a coincidence.
