Default Rear seat armrest cup holder removal??

I picked up an unbroken cup holder for my rear seat but can't figure out how to remove without breaking the tabs.
I've tried pushing in the sides but no joy. I don't want to crack/break the replacement.
Any recommendations? The armrest color is darker than mine otherwise I would just switch out the entire armrest.

There may not be an easy way. It looks like it was made for quick assembly, not disassembly.

Maybe if you cut open the fabric on the armrest, you can reach inside to release the tabs? Then stitch it back up.

Well, after some examination I came to the realization there is no way to remove the cup holder without cutting the armrest up.
You can access the rear by opening the rear upholstery flap but the interior foam fully encases the cup holder.
Cut away the outer cover and tear away the foam to reveal the tabs and the metal sheet inside.
A flathead screwdriver makes quick work of getting the holder out.
Holder just snaps into the hole and all is well now.

The aftermath.....

Like way too many items these days. Like quick-connects for heater hoses, etc.

Do you still have the one with the broken tabs? I'm looking for one of these for a custom build.

Sorry. I dumped all the dead parts after changing out the whole rear armrest/cup holder.
There should be plenty in the junkyards.
