h...I researched some threads but couldn't find anything relavent...I have a 2013 suburban LS 4x4...iv done some research and my truck has the ap8 rpo code which states remote start pre wiring...just went to chevy dealer and the accessory catalog says I need the power lift gate and pre wiring package...ap8 and e71 rpo in order to install oem remote start. does anyone now if this is in fact true. I just find it hard to believe that if the ap8 states remote start pre-wire that a oem system cant be installed..any help would be appreciated..thanks rob

 

Have you tried just turning it on? There is an option in the dash configuration to turn remote start on or off. I've had a 2007 yukon Denali for a year was going through my dash menu this week turned it on and now I have remote start. Just a thought hope this helps.

 

AP8 is supposed to be remote start ready...
You will need the new key fob and the receiver, you can find that stuff on GMParts direct for about $175... You will need to have the option enabled by the dealer for about an hours worth of Tech2 tool use...

Go to GMParts direct and click on the accessories link and drill down to your vehicle and options

 

I think your getting bad information. option code e71 isn't a build code for a 13 suburban. try another dealer.
