Default Remove Badging

Has anyone removed the badging from either '07 or '08 Tahoe? Arethere any pin holes underneath the letters or willgentle massaging usinga heat gun do the trick?

I removed the badging off of my '00 Sierra with just a heat gun but I want to make sure that there are no pin holes underneath the individual letters on my Tahoe.

There are a few posts on here already about this. In fact, most of us have removed some or all of our badging. DO NOT use a hair dryer, it will melt the paint before it heats up the adhesive enough. I have used GOO-GONE, lettting it sit for a minute or two. The TAHOE on the back and sides do not have pins in them, they are just decals. The chevy emblem on the front and back have pins, and if removed, will leave two small holes.

Some of the people on here have removed the gold trim badging around the chevy emblem on the back. That also is a decal.

Do a search, and you will find some posts about all of this.

Welcome to the forum.

I got mine a little warm as the night I did it on was pretty cold...used a hair dryer though, not a heat gun as I was afraid of hurting the paint.
I used some dental floss to get underneath the ones I needed and used goo-gone to remove any left over tape goo.
As was previously noted the rear, gold chevy emblem did leave two holes and an indent about the size of a quarter..looks like the Yukons have a different piece there with no holes in it (lucky them ?)
Anyway, I put a billet emblem back on so the holes didn't matter.
No holes under any of the tahoe badging, you are good to go there.

Thanks one and all for the info.

I have a Milwaukee heat gun and plenty of dental floss. On my way to get some Goo-gone. I wanted to make sure there were no pin holes underneath the letters.

I didn't use a heat gun or blowdryer i just used some fishing line or floss in a sawing motion and the used goo gone to get the rest of the adhesive off! Very simple heat gun really isn't needed.

Actually, the rear does not have any holes. The front chevy emblems has 2 holes.

Actually it did on my 2007 (like I'd make it up?) Just did it two weeks ago..did yours come off differently?

Notice the two pins in the picture..those went into two holes in the piece it was mounted on. No nuts like the front (it would be pretty hard to get to them) but locating pins and corresponding holes nonetheless.
I was kind of surprised and wanted to spare mary900 the same.

I used a Milwaukee heat gun, waxed dental floss, and Prepsol (took about 30 minutes). I removed all badging except for the front/back bowties. I hesitate doing those because of the pins. Although it would be nice to have black bowties on my black '08, I don’t want to take off, paint and then have to re-attach.

Ok, I see what you are saying. I just pealed the yellow plastic piece out of the emblem. And instantly you have a silver emblem.
