I have not removed the seats so I can't say specifically if its studs coming up with a nut holding them down or a bolt through the seat to the frame...
You will either need to place the bolts back in the holes to seal them up to prevent water and exhaust gases from coming back into the cabin... if they are studs sticking up you will need to cap them some how to prevent them from being penetrating objects....
But yes the seats can be removed....

Default Carpet removal.

Each of the captain chairs has 4 nuts and one plug. If you prop your seats up, you can pull up on the carpet covered flooring underneath the seat. It should pop right off, and then you can see the four nuts. I take the seats out via the rear access, think they're too big for the side door.

Do you still have the video on removing the 2nd row seats? I clicked on it and it said it was private. Also, do you have any links to a video showing what all is involved with removing the entire carpet? I have a 2007 Tahoe. Thanks!
