Default "Replace Battery in Remote Key" - Can this message be cleared?

Posting this in the Tahoe forum, because it gets a little more traffic than the Avy board...

My DIC on my 07 Avalanche says to "Replace Battery in Remote Key". I have replaced the batteries in both remotes and used them both, but the error is still there months later. I pulled the battery cable one night, in an attempt to clear the computer... It appeared to go away initially, but was back later that day. Can this error be cleared without a trip to the dealer?

Try holding down the check button when the message is showing

I tried that. It goes away initially, but is back the next time I start up the truck.

Maybe one of the new batteries are weak. Worth a shot. Try replacing them again and see if it stays off
