Replacement subwoofer does not have enough power. What is the easiest fix?
The factory 8 inch sub on my 2001 Suburban went bad. I replaced it with a Kicker Comp 100 watt RMS max. It plays but I can only hear it when the bass hits hard. Seems like it isn't getting enough power from the factory amp. Can I add an aftermarket amp to just the sub without bypassing the factory amp. What would be the easiest fix for this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike
I see. So I would have to bypass the factory amp. I was wondering if I used the wires that come from the factory amp to the sub for my new amp, if it would damage the new amp. I was thinking it might be ok because the factory amp probably isn't putting out that high of watts. Thanks
