Is this a ROD knock or a LIFT??
So my 93 Suburban was have a small ticking noise i did not think anything of it well today i was headed out of town everything was good then i had this big knocking noise LOAD so i stop and killed it waited and started it up and was still bad so brought it back home slow what do you think my problem is

Wow now that is not a sound you want to hear... sounds a bit like an exhaust leak as well but it seems to loud to me to be lifter...I suspect rod...

Yeah I was thinking it was a Rod knock myself but was hoping it was something else it has a weird whistle noise because the video thanks for the Reply's

sorry it defentily sounds like a rod. But there is possibilities it could be a cracked flywheel or the harmonic balancer might have came apart chevys are known for both and they can sound just like a knock i would check the balancer first just to be safe
