Excellent! Glad to hear that they are taking the extra step to come get it from you, rather then asking you to bring it in and leave it...please do keep us updated

They called and said it is the intake manifold gasket. Oh, I hope so because I do love being right! Should be done tomorrow.

Sounds good. For future reference, the invoice should spell out exactly what they did.

Glad to hear they found the culprit. But I'm curious, as to why a bad IM gasket would create white exhaust smoke? I understand the rough idle part. Can someone please enlighten my non-technician mind? lol.

Wow! AT 8:17 this morning I hear a knock at my door; it's the dealership guy bringing my suburban back. He swears it's fixed.

He said he knew it was the intake gaskets because he did the carb cleaner sprayed on the gasket trick and it started sputtering like crazy, blah blah blah, mechanic speak, blah blah.

No cost, but also no invoice for me to look at either. I think they are just trying to make it right since we just bought it a week ago. It's a small town, if everyone hears that they sold a car to a family with 5 kids that was sold already needing repairs they could probably kiss their business goodbye. It makes me feel good that they didn't just tell us to go fly a kite.
