Default 2021 Z71- rubbing sound

Glad I found this post, I thought I was going crazy and the last dealer didn’t hear it. I am bring it in Monday as temps are getting colder in TN and it is driving me crazy that it is making the noise. I have the document on the service bulletin someone sent that I will bring with to the dealer but if anyone else has more details of what they need to do to get this fixed, I would appreciate a reply back.

Default 2021 Chevy Tahoe

I purchased my 2021 last year in July. After a month, I started to hear the noise when turning. It’s like a humming noise. Worse when it’s cold. Took it back to dealer and they couldn’t hear it since the car was already warmed up. Just dropped off today at a different Chevy dealer. Let’s see what the outcome is. This is annoying and a 4 year old car should not be making this noise.

Make sure you get 2 bottles of the ACDelco 10-4091 because the differential fluid capacity is almost 2 quarts.
easy DIY project just need a little hand pump to put in the new fluid after draining the old fluid. drain plug is located at the bottom and fill up plug is at the back of the differential.

Dealerships are going to hate me for this tip Thank me later 😆
So just for reference, you put the 2 bottles of 4091 and 1 bottle of each of the other 2 and that did the trick? Not sure why Chevy doesn’t know this. Seems a lot of people are having the same problem and shouldn’t Chevy be looking into this more for a defect. I know they don’t want to due to cost, but this sucks to pay 70k for a truck with bs like this causing issues.

Did you ever figure out if 2 bottles of 4091 and 1 bottle of each of the other 2 is the correct formula?

Default Rubbing

Just curious, I haven’t brought to dealer and I have never changed the rear differential fluid before. Question though, I have a 4wd so anyone with 4wd have you done the fix suggested with the 3 bottles and if so, anything else I should know to fix the issue?

Default Products

If anyone is in need of the products that were talked about to fix the issue, I have them and I no longer have my Tahoe and I can’t return them, so let me know and I can give a good discount on all 4 bottles.
thanks

Will keep you update if i hear anything different.

any update?

The moan/groan sound is back. The sound is only present during cold, low speed / idling turns. Once the oil in the diff warms up, the sound goes away.
I am going to order the oil, and do the service myself. I live too far from the dealership to jack around with them again.
I will post my update once complete.
