is the engine from the 2006 tahoe the same as the 2007 tahoe? looking to do first oil change and want to know what oil filter to buy. i would prefere not to take it to the dealer. any info would be appreciated and thank you in advance.

Welcome. I'd go to the parts store and have them look up the filter number for you.

 

They are not the same powerplant.
