Default "Service TPMS" message

My left tire pressure sensor is not displaying a reading. I'm hoping it's just a simple sensor swap. The message displays intermittently so am just going to monitor until it comes on consistently as I don't want to get the "we can't duplicate the problem" go-around at the shop.

On my Honda Odyssey, the ability to disengage traction control is disabled if the TPMS is not functioning. Wondering if there are any systems that are disabled on 08 LTZ's when the TPMS light is on.

Thanks in advanced.

no.

does your Honda system use sensors in the tires? Some older systems use tire rotational data to determine if the tire has low air pressure not sensors. This is why the traction, stability or abs would be shut down...conflicting wheel speed data.

Check ebay if you need a new sensor.

personally I would replace with a factory sensor. The aftermarket ones i have used in the past have always been the slowest to respond.

I would second the use OEM sensors, my 07 Tahoe still has the original monitors in them no issues... if you use aftermarket you are most likely to get aftermarket performance...I would only replace them as they fail , unless you are in the position of needing new tires , then I would consider doing all of them. OEM sensors will run about $40 each...

I got four OEM sensors from ebay a couple of years ago for our 2004 Tahoe for ~$145. I think they run about $100 each thru dealer parts.

It's possible to just break the bead near the valve/sensor and replace w/o having to rebalance.

I'll see your $36.97 and raise you to $25.00.

Brand New ACDelco GM Tire Pressure Sensor P 13586335 | eBay

They also now have four for $84.97.

I need to get one as my RF is reporting low pressure even tho it still shows the correct pressure on the DIC. My service adviser tried reprogramming w/ their tool to no avail.

The battery is either bad in the L/R or you had a rotation done and the technician wasn't too bright and didn't relearn the sensors...

I have never ever seen a tpm signal to fall out due to a failure to register after rotation. it will send the same signal to the rcdlr regardless to where it is on the vehicle.
