No holes under the rear bowtie. Peel the gold off and you are set. When you remove the front it will reveal the holes but no one will notice for the short time it is off. When you paint then reapplythe front one it will still show the surrounding chrome. Take a look at yours once. You will see that there is chrome around the plastic portion.

Thanks for that paint web site how did you get the gold off heat,fishing line? also did you sand or just paint over? thanks for your help.

The front bowtie is held on bytwo speed nuts. You can reach in behind the the grillle by opening the hood. Ther rear came off using fishing line and a sawing motion. Park so the rear is in the sun all day first(if you have any this late in the year)

Sorry for the late reply. I used the McGhaughys 2/3 spindle/spring kit.
I also put some airbags that go inside the coils because the kit drops it a little much in the back.
Mine is 4x2. Not sure on 4x4's.. If you need anything else you can PM me.
