side rear door unlock failure
My 2008 LTZ has been an endless source of glitches - dangerous , and expensive.
Still not clear why, but twice in 2024 the truck shut down entirely while towing a trailer , very nasty steering and stopping adventures. After turning the key several times over an hour , it restarted and was driven to a GM dealer " nothing found " was the response. My confidence in the safe operation of the truck is destroyed.
This week both side rear door locks will lock with the system fob or armrest buttons , but not unlock.
Fuses test ok. Any other suggestions ?
What next?
I have had 5 of these beasts since 1976 , still operating a 1999 and 2008 (reluctantly) and find myself looking at FORD now for a tow vehicle.

I hate to hear about your issues. I had a 2003 Yukon (GMC equivalent of the Tahoe), and before I sold it, it had an issue with some "weak" power lock mechanisms on the rear doors. It sounds very similar to yours, where they would lock but not unlock all the way. You could hear them trying to unlock, but they just didn't have the oomph to do it all the way. I could sometimes hit the unlock button multiple times (fob, or drivers door), and they would eventually move all the way into the unlocked position. Never saw an issue with the two front doors.
I never dug into it, but felt it likely to be a lubrication issue of some sort internal to the power lock mechanism in the back doors.
I understand your frustration. I'm still hanging onto a 1996 and 2006 pickup, and read too many stories of engine and transmission issues with the new ones, making me reluctant to part with my old reliable trucks. Mine are just for hauling and towing around town at the moment though, and the 1996 is still here mostly as its one of the last true "step side" pickups and I like the body style, and plan an eventual restoration. If I needed a tow vehicle for regular use on trips, not sure what I would look at today. I read about enough issues with Ford truck engines too, to where I think I would be looking at a RAM or something else.
