As stated in my first post. I am going to try cleaning my valve cover first.
"5.3 smoke at start-up". This is a well known issue, or so I believed, and I thought others may have already had an experience with trying to clean/modify or replace the valve cover.
It wasn't a "what's wrong with my engine?" thread.
I was a professional mechanic for many years. I was trying to let others know about the symptoms and a likely solution.

everyone is so quick to jump to guide seals. No smoke on heavy acceleration or deceleration. Both times would suck oil past the valve seals.
the updated valve cover was designed as part of a fix for afm engine that were burning oil due to the afm relief valve clogging up the oil control rings. If someone wants to adapt it to a different engine code so be it. You posting videos of unrelated engines doesn't help.
What testing have you done to confirm its the pcv system and not valve seals. without testing you are guessing

Look at what I said: "Always be aware" and not "This is it for sure". Then I agreed and said to try the less expensive "GUESS" with the valve cover.

I guess context plays a big part.

You do what you want but when you start throwing around phrases like, "I guess practical real world experiences have no basis in a diag.", you are barking up the wrong tree. I have gobs of 35+ years experiences and the best I can do without seeing the vehicle myself and running my own tests that are proven to me and many others I have worked with over the years, is to make a WAG. If I see shared info that I know I have seen before and know what I did to fix it, I can tell someone that I am very sure what I state can be the problem. My mind is wide open and I left having tunnel vision years ago because it cost me by wasting valuable time in a diagnosis. I am open to all kinds of input and info and anyone who asks for help here should also be that way. You go ahead and clam up and don't share what you do and what the results are. If you are that closed minded, I for one don't want to know the outcome. I used to have a name for techs in my shops that I ran that thought a lot like this, they were called Prima Donna's and they typically did not last long in my shops.
