Default Steering Malfunction in 02 Tahoe

The steering in my 02 Tahoe locked up all of a sudden, and I checked the belt and the power steering fluid level and both were alright.

I think it may be of some importance to note that this happened in the snow and I continued to drive 11 miles to get home.

I can turn the wheel, but it takes a great amount of force, and it won't let me turn all the way.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be the reason for such a malfunction? Any responses will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you may have lost a pump or flow control valve.
