Steering wheel shifted
This morning I finally figured out why I drive my 07 Tahoe in a different and sometimes weird position than I am used to. In my other cars I always grab the steering with both hands at 9 and 3 o’ clock. Or I leave my right hand on gear selector (center console). In the Tahoe, I usually grab the steering at 3 o’ clock (with my right hand only) while my left elbow is on the door and my left hand fisted just above my left knee. Sometimes I find myself grabbing the steering at 10 o’ clock with my right hand! This morning as soon as I sat in the car and started the engine, I noticed the whole steering wheel looks shifted to the right. I grabbed my measuring tape and yes, it is true: the bowtie logo in center of the steering wheel is closer to right side of the driver seat than the left side. I have an LS with front 40/20/40 bench seat. Now this is done by design and will not hurt anything. I do not have any complain regarding this. Just the fact that I found it interesting to sit offset to the steering wheel position. When I was shopping for a full size SUV I compared the interior dimension of Tahoe and competitors. Tahoe sure does have more heap room and wider seats.
