Default Stock Grille Inserts? 07'-13'

Are the grille inserts on a Z71 burban/hoe different than on the usual LS/LT/LTZ models?

Reason for asking is because my dealer agreed to swapping my chrome grille inserts to the flat black base model ones (easier to paint). However the service department called and said they won't swap over.

I'm kinda calling bull***t. But then again I haven't had a chance to look at the other grille inserts.

Thanks guys!

I'd call BS on that too. I don't see why they wouldn't swap over. I'd go to the dealer and have the service guys show me why they "won't swap over." I just don't trust dealers, especially their "service" departments. Good luck.

Would've in a heartbeat if I didn't have the wife and screaming baby with us.

Right now I'm taking the grille insert out myself to get exact dimensions of the inserts themselves and the tabs.

The easiest way to tell would be to have your parts man look up the part numbers for both vehicles. That will tell you whether or not they are interchangeable. AFAIK they are interchangeable.

That's what has led me to the point I'm at now.

Here's the steps I've taken since I started this thread:

1. Called another dealerships parts department and was told the same thing. However the guy kept referring to my burb as a LTZ, I corrected him 4 times that it was a Z71. So the fact he wasn't really listening didn't give me a lot of reassurance.

2. Called 2 aftermarket grille insert replacement companies to ask if I would have an issue. Both of them reassured me that it would be no issue at all and both called their parts specialist to double check.

3. I took the radiator cover off and loosened the top of the grille so I could get a better look at the tabs inside. Also made measurements of EVERYTHING. Took pictures of the bottom tab bracket to see if it's the same for when I go back up there to get the rims and tires put on.

So I'll see how this goes.

Went back to the dealer made them show me why it won't fit.
Lets just say I left with my new black grille on my burb and they filled it up, and washed it.

Woohoo!

Hmmm, interesting how things change once you're in their face and not just a voice on the phone. I told you I called bullsh** on that! Good for you on going down there and making them keep their word. Take that stealership!!
